Why some application icons do not show up when activate PiDirectVFS?

Evaluation copy of PiDirectVFS only support up to 20 files in \Palm\PiDirect\, exceed files will be simply ignored.

Why my 3^rd party launcher does not show a dot before card¡¦s application icon¡¦s name?

Currently only the default launcher will support the show up of dot before card¡¦s application.

In the preference list, what is the different of those options?

Status:

Ø Preset ¡V the setting is fixed by PiDirectVFS to avoid conflict

Ø Pause and Resume ¡V PiDirectVFS will auto pause when enter the specific application, and auto resume when exit. (Commonly used for backup application for avoid conflict)

Ø Disable and Rescan ¡V PiDirectVFS will auto disable when enter the specific application, and auto rescan when exit. (Commonly used for file manager application that would update the card content)

Is the path specified in PiDirectPanel case sensitive?

No, directory path in PiDirectPanel is case insensitive.

How do I make PiDirect sub-directory and fill up files?

You can use any third party file manager, or using a card reader for creating path and fill up files under the sub-directory. For details, please refer to our quick start guide document.

Which version should I use, if I have a visor?

PiDirectVFS won¡¦t work on Visor. MemPlug users should purchase the memplug specific version PiDirect. For details, please visit: www.memplug.com

My handheld with 2MB of free memory, can I access a 5MB database with PiDirectVFS?

PiDirectVFS will only copy the necessary records to your internal memory once your program try to access it. The memory will be free up once your program finished access it. However, some applications will attend to open all its record when start, and the worst case is reserving the same amount of memory for your database.

What is mean by read only databases that I can seamlessly access with PiDirect?

Most applications and its databases are read only. You can put them on the card with PiMover or card reader. Most .prc can be placed on the card, but any file, which indicates that it is preferences and would be edited during program execution, should be remained on your internal memory.

When I try to delete applications on card with default launcher (or other 3^rd parties launcher), why it return error message ¡§Unable to delete [selected application]¡¨?

Applications on card will behave as read-only database with PiDirect. You are not able to delete read only database on your visor.

Can PiDirectVFS scan more than one sub-directories when activate?

PiDirect will only scan files place on the path specified in PiDirectPanel. User have been using the programs stored on the card in \Office sub-directory and want to use programs in \Games, should have to go back into PiDirect and change the path.
